Sizes 0-6 Months, 6-12 Months, 1-2 Years, 3-4 Years, 5-6 Years, 7-8 Years & 9-10 years. Model wears size 5-6.
Construction
This is a raglan style cardigan and is worked from the top down. The hood is added and then each sleeve. The edging stitch pattern has a larger gauge than the half double crochet stitches of the body and the sleeves. The first row edging has decreases worked into the row to account for this. The first edging rows must be odd numbered and always start and end with a half double crochet.
Fit
The cardigan is meant to be oversized and worn as a jacket with clothes underneath. It should fit with a positive ease of about 4-7 inches around the chest. If you would like the jacket to be fitted, I would size down.
Materials:
*5.00mm (U.S H/8) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.
*I used Rico Essentials Soft Merino Aran.
*A note about this yarn* Though it is classified as an aran yarn, it is much closer to a DK/LIGHTWEIGHT 3. If you are not using the suggested yarn, I would use DK/LIGHTWEIGHT 3 with a 5mm hook OR use Aran/Worsted weight yarn with a 4mm hook when you gauge swatch.
*stitch markers
*3-7 buttons (2cm/0.8in)
